ALONG COMES JONES! April 3, 1999 Look up ACTION in a dictionary, and there SHOULD be a picture of archaeologist/adventurer Indiana Jones hanging on to the side of a speeding truck ready to slam his foot directly into the jaw of a no-good Nazi. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is probably the ultimate definition of action. Indiana Jones, is a man who lives the kind of dangerous, exciting life that even James Bond has never experienced. And unlike Bond, he is a little more respectful of women and is aware when he is in over his head. That's part of Jones' charm, he is a truly brave, in-control hero, but when he get's into TOO much trouble, he knows it. Harrison Ford deserves the huge credit he receives for bringing out the humanity in Indy. There is no word for how well Ford plays Indiana Jones. What else is there to say? There are delightful villans. My favourite villan is Toht played by Ronald Lacey, an interrogating Nazi who giggles like Peter Lorre whenever he gets to inflict pain on his enemies. There is a truck chase that is so exciting that the only way the picture can top it is with a spectacular special-effects finale. Therer is even a little romance with Indy leaving his duty to retrieve the ark of the convinant to climb aboard a Nazi sub and rescue his girlfriend, Marion from a Nazi guarded desert island.

Please RELEA$E it on DVD !
Spielberg at his best March 11, 1999 It is definitly one of my favorite films of all time. It's the one movie every American should own.
Zowie! February 12, 1999 One of the all time classics! Harrison Ford is his dry witted best as professor/archeologist/adventurer Indiana Jones, who gets hired by the U.S. government to recover the biblical Ark of the Covenent (The actual ten commandements!) before the Nazis find it. The trick? It's buried in the Egyptian desert due to an ancient sand storm that lasted a whole year! Spielberg never lets you take a breath, and you'll know you're in for the ride of your life from the very first sequence.
grrrrrrrrreat February 9, 1999 great film, goes well with the soundtrack. Second best of all the Jones films. the best scene being when the boulder is chasing him (at the begining for all who are ignorant).
