The Best of the trio July 18, 2005 I just love this film! It shows the character and theme have been allowed to develope & grow. (Not many "series" movies are so lucky!)Altogether a great Saturday film! Well done to all hands concerned! I just hope that there is more films of this quality in the pipeline.
Wish amazon sold this seperately as a DVD March 2, 2005 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Definitely the best of the three movies. If you like over the top acting, lots of stunts with little plot- as some do- you'll love the second one, Temple of Doom. If you like action movies that are like 80% of all the other action movies out there, Raiders of the lost ark has plenty of stunts for you too. (Okay, maybe Raiders spares a tad more originality than most action films), but if you're into movies that tell a great story- as only good movies do, get this one. The Last Crusade is one of those rare films that takes a whole bunch of genres and skillfully puts it all into one film. It's an action film, A romance, a comedy, an adventure film- all into one. If they had put in a little sci-fi/horror in there you'd have the whole damn video store. It's the perfect film for when you have a bunch of people over with different tastes. Sure to satisfy them all.
Not related: Amazon should really remove some of the reviews that customers give on certain products. There are one star reviews for this movie by people who mention scenes that aren't even in this movie... they are mistaking this film for one of the other IJones films-Temple of doom. Just goes to show you really need to read the reviews before passing judgement.
One of my favorite movies January 8, 2005 I'm a sucker for adventure films. Iv'e seen them all: Mask of Zorro, LOTR, Sky Captain and The World Of Tomorrow, a whole bunch. But Iv'e rarely seen one I like as much as this one. Why? Because it's everything you'd want in an adventure film: action, laughs, and a great storyline. Although Iv'e seen the other two Indy films, I still think this is the best, because it has Sean Connery in it. It's impossible not to like Sean Connery. He's funny, he's handsome, and almost every movie he's in is a great action film. In this movie, Indiana and his father, played by Connery, set on a quest to find the Holy Grail before the Nazis use its power to take over the world. Lots of action and Connery saying funny things ensues.
The Searh for the Holy Grail November 6, 2004 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade brings together Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) with his father Mr. Jones Senior (Sean Connery) The movie begins in Utah in 1912, with a young Indiana Jones (River Phoenix) being pursued by a gang of rogues, who want the antiquity he has just nabbed from them, as Indy believes that the treasure should be in a museum, and not as their personal possession. Shooting forward to 1938, Indiana Jones is pressed into an adventure to find the fabled Holy Grail, which was sought by King Arthur's Knights of Camelot, among others. Lots of exciting action takes Indy and his father from Venice to Nazi occupied Austria to Turkey, pitting him against evil Nazis, and including a beautiful lady archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider (Alison Doody), whose greed tragically causes her to fall in with the bad guys.
Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade is far superior to the disappointing Temple of Doom, and as good as the first Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark
This is my favorite of the three. September 20, 2004 Sean Connery and Harrison Ford make a great duo in this tale of the missing Grail of Christ.
I don't why it seems that Sean Connery is the main actor in this film. He doesn't overshadow Harrison Ford, but he seems to have more to say. This is strange because elders in films usually get the back seat in most films.
Well, if you liked Highlander and The Rock, you will like this film even greater.
