5 out of 5 stars Great Album for Kids of All Ages   February 8, 2007

Good gad, there really *is* a kid's album that's worth listening to!! This probably almost appeals more to me (age 39) than my daughter (16 1/2 mos.) but I expect she'll grow into it. I find I listen to this even when she's not in the car with me. I love Kate Winslet & Weird Al in "I Need a Nap" and the driving force of "Dog Train" is a lot of fun. And who can resist "Mootopia" or "Thus Quacked Zarathustra"?? Toss the Wiggles, put this in your cart instead!!

A super fun book and CD for kids of all ages. Songs from artists you know and fun/ silly lyrics you can listen to with your kids. A very sweet book I have purchased for all the 5/6/7 year olds I know!

I bought Philadelphia Chickens a while back and ADORED it. LOVE LOVE LOVE this one too. Boynton (with Ford)writes the most clever and catchy "children's" music I've ever heard. What a great way for little ones to enjoy rock/pop/bluesy music without exposing them to raunchy lyrics. It's so fun, so family-friendly...and yet, so GENUINE. It's actual MUSIC! And you will actually WANT to listen!

5 out of 5 stars A blast of a book and CD!   January 9, 2007

I originally got this for my older sister for Christmas due to the title (she's becoming a dog trainer), and couldn't resist listening to it myself (thus breaking the seal on the enclosed CD in the book) once I saw the lyrics and illustrations. For a "li'l kids' book", the writing is definitely engaging enough for even "vintage kids" as the back of the book touts, and the music ROCKS. Very catchy; those sort of "stick in your head" songs you can't forget, and a great cast of artists, including Weird Al Yankovic and Kate Winslet in "their first duet together" (well, yeah ::grin::), Steve Lawrence and Edie Gormet, Hootie and the Blowfish, and others. There had to be something besides money to get all those folks together, and I think it was this: they had fun. So will you.

(I finally put the CD back in, taped up the broken seal, and sent the whole shebang off to my sister, thinking I'd never get the chance to hear it again, and got one for Christmas myself. Karma works!)

5 out of 5 stars Excellent CD   January 9, 2007
My boys, ages 5 and 8, just love the music on the CD. We've given
this as a birthday present a dozen times, and the recipients
have liked it. It's easy to wrap, and in a great price range
as a gift on my budget.

It's enjoyable for grownups too. Although intended for children,
it has sufficient musical style for older ears.

My kids love jumping on the bed in time to the energetic pace
of the music.

I highly recommend this.
