ford mustang and cougar book October 12, 2005 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son just bought a 1966 ford mustang. We know from past esperience that the chilton books are the best. We purchased this book so my son could learn more about his mustang which he is fixing up.
Chilton's Ford Mustang and Cougar, 1964-73 August 6, 2005 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well organized and comprehensive in its scope. But then again, that is what one comes to expect with a Chilton's Manual. I have used them all my life and they are invaluable when making reapirs or doing a major overhaul of an engine, transmission, or differential. It would be nice if there were more illustrations and some existing were updated.
My son and I are starting a Mustang restoration project and this book has been very useful for some basic understanding of the Ford Mustang and more advanced information concerning parts specifications. Overall I would rate this book as very good.
  Chilton's Mustang repair manual 64-73 ... :-( May 30, 2003 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This book is okay for some simpler repair and maintainance jobs. Use it in conjunction with some better books for any serious repairs. It leaves out LOTS of important details in many cases. I would NEVER try rebuilding your engine using this book. The pictues are grainy and can be hard to see what its illustrating. The electrical section is somewhat lacking. Try and find a used copy or borrow one. The best part about it is, IF you are working on a 71-73 Mustang, ALL the photos are of a 72 Mustang with a 302.
Good for simple maintenance September 8, 2002 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this book to help me on restoring an 1967 Mustang. The book came weel packed but I was a little desapointed with the photos. They look very old and sometimes difficult to realize what it is.I felt also that a lot of details where resumed. But it is a good book if you want to do a simple maintenance and begin to understand how the car works.
Cougar Repair Manual June 12, 2001 1 out of 8 found this review helpful
In reviewing the book, I found it to be well written, well illustrated and easy to follow. However, the fact that the book was wrapped so tightly by the shipping department that it was badly bent for about six (6) inches on the lower right hand corner over shadowed any enjoyment I may have received from the use of the book. I take care of my books being careful to not dirty or bend the pages during use and have a fairly large library of repair manuals due to this care process. The only reason the book was not returned, was that it was given to my daughters boyfriend and he figured it would be damaged in moving around.
