1 out of 5 stars Short life! Weak! Streaky!   October 17, 2008
On the good side, ICON blades are easy to change, look GREAT, and never squeak.

The bad news: the springs aren't nearly strong enough so they don't stick to the windshield tightly. This remains true no matter if you're standing still or driving fast, so it's not an aerodynamics problem, it's a spring tension problem. And low tension brings a weak wipe.

Tiny leaf stems, other plant parts, and insect parts get stuck between the blade and the windshield glass and stay there, leaving streaks. Even micro scratches in the glass quickly make the blades streaky and they STAY streaky even if you carefully clean off the rubber edge.

Everything about the ICON series *looks* like a big upgrade, and that gets you to pay the high price. Then you notice that the only real benefit is they don't squeak. Sure, they don't squeak but they also don't clean your windshield!

I tried two pairs in a row just to give them a fair shake. I'm going back to regular blades and next time it will be much more difficult for Bosch or anyone else to persuade me to take a big leap to a new style of wiper blade.

In case I wasn't clear enough, these ICON blades give a wipe that is as streaky and unclear, when one or two weeks old, as regular blades did after six months of wear. They're an absolute ripoff and should be recalled.

Last but not least: no, I'm not using them on an extremely curved windshield. I have a 2004 GMC Canyon, and the windshield has a very tame, ordinary curve that works fine with most wiper blades and even with the straight squeegees at gas stations. ICON blades are failing what should be one of the easiest tests. I expected MUCH better from Bosch after appreciating the craftsmanship of their appliances and woodworking tools.

5 out of 5 stars Bosch Icon Wiper Blades   September 4, 2008
This is the best Wiper Blade I have ever purchased. Installation is easy! Very quiet,,,no skipping even on dry windshield. The bracketless design allows the blade to conform to the windshield.

2 out of 5 stars Worked great.. for a while   August 9, 2008
I replaced my original factory wipers with these. They did an amazing job for about 6 months and then they started to streak. Not sure how long wipers are supposed to last, but 6 months seems kind of short. Especially when I live in southern California and it probably only rained 4 times in those six months.

1 out of 5 stars Overpriced, and defective   February 1, 2008
I purchased this item (Bosch ICON 422B) as well as the 422A for my 2004 Tahoe. The wiper does not reach all parts of the window, specifically on the bottom right of the passenger side. As for the Driver side, the blade streaks and again misses part of the windshield at the top of the arc. I contacted Bosch directly, and they said that they were aware of these defects, and there was nothing they could do about it. They said that they were not able to get enough tension in the blade to make it conform to my windshield. They said I would have to take it up with the retailer. Bosch still claims that these are compatible with my vehicle even though they are aware of these defects. You are much better off paying half as much, and giving up the "extra 20%" life Bosch claims and buy some traditional metal bracket wipers.

5 out of 5 stars Amazon should specify you need two different blades   October 21, 2007

You need an "A" for driver's side and a "B" model blade for the passenger side. The way the seller is listing these you'd never know !
