Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Swiss-Tech Utili-Key is the lightest, most compact multi tool on the market. Constructed of sturdy stainless steel, it attaches to any key ring for easy access whenever you need it. Snap Utilikey to your key chain, and you won't even notice the weight. It closely resembles a common house key, but it unfolds to a full 4.5" in length. This convenient little tool features a non-locking, straight and serrated knife edge. You can snap it into the 90 degree position to use the micro-sized Phillips screwdriver, the tiny eyeglass repair screwdriver, or the #1 flat blade screwdriver for minor repairs. It also features a bottle opener. Made of polished stainless, this unique survival tool is unlike ordinary bulky multi tools that weigh you down and crowd your pocket. It is so small and attaches easily to your keychain, you'll actually carry the Utili-Key! The only problem with carrying this multi purpose tool, is that you sometimes forget you have it. Pocket knives are popular gifts for men, but these micro multitools are a great gift idea for a man or woman. It is a great way to have bottle openers and screwdrivers handy for any situation. It is like a swiss army knife, but easier to keep track of and it's inexpensive, too! The smallest and most compact multi-use tool ever developed makes minor repairs, assemblies and hundreds of jobs an easy undertaking. The patented tool securely locks onto and releases from any standard key ring and easily fits into any pocket or bag. All of the Utili-Keys include: flat, Phillips and micro screwdrivers. Tools vary by model and may also include: serrated and straight knife blades, bottle opener, nail file and nail cleaner.

Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars More of a novelty than a useful tool   November 20, 2008
The utili-key I received wasn't terribly sharp (as in Chicago Cutlery quality), is hard to open because of the latching mechanism, and even harder to use because of its size and form factor.

3 out of 5 stars some good, some bad   November 3, 2008
i echo the review from clarketx

with the small form factor, there isn't really anything else like it. However, it is a pain to open and the metal is cheap. i snapped off the eyeglass screwdriver within the first week, and now it has no loop to attach to my keychain.

I will buy another, because there is nothing else as usefule and unitrusive that will fit in my pocket.

3 out of 5 stars The design that makes it useful, makes it inconvenient   September 27, 2008
A real multitool for under $10? I guess.

Pros:
1) Really convenient. Works great on your key ring. If you forget your pocketknife then you've always got something with you.
2) Great design. I love how it does so many things and has such a tiny form factor.
3) Low cost.

Cons:
1) Very cheap steel. I'd rather pay twice as much for better quality.
2) Incredibly unergonomic. You have to put your hand on the kinfe blade to use the screwdriver.
3) Easier to cut yourself than other multitool designs.
4) Latching mechanism is inconvenient: There is a groove to put your thumbnail into, but its not handy. It takes two hands to open it. I often end up dropping my key ring while I'm opening the mechanism. So I always try to open it over a table or chair now.

Buy it? Yes. The same genius of its design is also its undoing. It is a perfect compromise - not perfect in any way, but gets the job done. But keep your expectations low.
