Product Description Playwright David Talbert has become well known for his inspirational Gospel-music infused dramas featuring primarily African-American casts. This collection gathers three of his popular stage productions.THE FABRIC OF A MAN: Emerging as Talbert's most critically acclaimed hit this play was nominated for 13 NAACP Awards and played to great audience approval during its initial run in Los Angeles. This release captures a live performance with all the immediacy that comes with the theatrical experience. Dominique and Blair are a young couple on their way up the ladder of wealth and social status. But when Dominique meets Joshua a handsome working man she falls for him and must make a choice between the comfort and money represented by Blair and the romantic ideal Joshua could be. THE FABRIC OF A MAN is a romance that combines good-natured comedy and life-affirming drama with Gospel music written by award-winning composer Brent Jones.HE SAY SHE SAY BUT WHAT DOES GOD SAY?: One of Talbert's first hits this play is set in one of Detroit's toughest neighborhoods. When a small church finds itself stuck next door to a nightclub frequented by hustlers pimps and gangsters both the church's congregation and the club's dangerous owners decide to try and rid the neighborhood of the other leading to a series of tense confrontations. The production is part of the inspirational Soul Theatre series and was even adapted as a short-lived television series named GOOD NEWS.LOVE ON LAYAWAY: David E. LOVE IT October 23, 2008 I JUST LOVE ALL THE THINGS I HAVE GOT FROM AMAZON AND I WILL ALWAYS KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE. THIS IS MY ONE STOP SHOP.
Timeless Classics October 14, 2008 The storylines were wonderful and I could watch these plays multiple times. The singing was also really good.
A New Inspiration October 8, 2008 I must say that I never thought anyone can compete with Tyler Perry but David is going to make a mark just like Tyler did. The plays really are amazing to watch. Love on Layway, and The Fabric of a Man are so life touching for a lot of women and men these days. He Say, She Say, But What Does God Say? is a masterpiece of the real world. How most gansters do all of these bad things to people and they don't realize that eventually they will come to terms with what they have done. I really do think alot of people should watch his plays and learn from them. I know if they like Tyler then they will like David.
3-PACK DAVID TALBORT'S PLAYS June 24, 2008 This was an execllent buy at an unbeliveable cost. The plays are thought invoking and fun to watch all while dealing with real life issues. A joy to watch alone or with others, a sure crowd pleaser, especially the Fabric of a Man with the fine Darrin Dewitt Henson, a lovely sight!
