A heartwarming story where orphan Danny (Rees), on the way to live with his mean uncle, finds and adopts a stray dog thate he names shep. The uncle is not pleased about the dog, and soon accuses the pooch of killing his chickens. Danny and shep decide to go on the road as tramps, and end up meeting a kindly old man who believes his son and daughter-in-law no longer want him due to their financial struggles. The happy trio soon find a kidnapped richa young girl being held in an abandoned shack and concoct a plan to rescue her. The wealthy father is so happy at having his little girl back that he gives the trio a healthy reward, and the old man's son finally finds his father after a long and desperate search.
