Product Description
New York Times number?one bestselling author Debbie Ford presents revolutionary questions that, when answered with complete honesty, change the way we see ourselves and make decisions ? ultimately moving us toward the life we desire. The realities of the life we live today are a result of the choices we made yesterday, three months ago and three years ago. But we don't wind up $50,000 dollars in debt because of one extravagant purchase. Nor do we put on 30 unwanted pounds as a result of a couple of decadent meals. And our relationships certainly don't fall apart overnight because of one decision. We are where we are because of repeated unconscious choices made day after day. If we want to understand why and how we created our present day reality, all we need to do is look at the choices we made in the past. Ford cuts right through our denial with the 10 questions that immediately reveal the true motivations behind our thoughts and actions. But more than that, by rigorously and honestly asking and answering these 10 vital questions, we regain control and have the power necessary to create the life we always wanted.

Are you on auto pilot? November 21, 2008 Before meeting Debbie Ford, I was unhappy with my life. I couldn't achieve what I said I wanted. What I didn't realize was that I was on auto pilot and the life I was living now was a result of choices I made the day before, the week before, and even the year before! Besides being blindly on auto pilot, I was a short-term gratification junkie. I've had a goal to be at a healthier weight for almost 14 years (yeah, i know, not as long as some people!). The question that touched me the most was: Will this choice bring me long-term fulfillment or will it bring me short-term gratification? Many times on my path to healthier living I saw food choices that I made that were always short-term gratification! No wonder i wasn't making any progress. By really looking closely at my choices and reminding myself of this question, I was able to change my eating habits for the better and lose 12 pounds!
A Guide to an Extraordinary Life November 20, 2008 Asking ourselves "The Right Questions" might seem too simple a way to change our life and yet the process of asking and anwering these 10 simple questions can lead us to make amazing, positive changes. The choices we make, or don't make, are what ultimately determine the quality of our life, This book helps us to look more closely at our decisions and thereby gives us the tools we need to live a life we only dreamed about.
For Those Yearning to Clarify Their Life Direction November 19, 2008 I would recommend this book to anyone who is yearning for a some direction in their life. The Right Questions is ideal for anyone looking to further their knowledge of their own self. This book is perfect for individuals with goals, dreams, and desires, but who are unsure of how to make their visions reality.
The Right Questions is brimming with Ford's personal anecdotes. She has developed an incredible self-awareness that she relates through her own experiences. The fact that Ford has the experience of looking critically at her own life and making changes in her present and future make her an ideal teacher.
Ford peppers The Right Questions with not only her own experiences, but also the stories of her friends, clients, and teachers. While the topics covered in this book are often abstract, Ford makes every issue completely relatable through these clear and accessible examples. She lists and demonstrates clear ways to apply her teachings to everyday life.
My overall impression of the book is incredibly positive. Ford clearly is bursting with experience and knowledge and, for the most part, does an excellent job of clearly conveying her message. Unfortunately, there are some concepts that are almost completely lost in unnecessarily complex metaphors. Also, the book as a whole tends to drift and meander, and her message loses some of its potency along the way. Ford occasionally adopts a moralizing and sermonizing tone that alienates the reader from the overall concept and message of the book. Overall, this book is an excellent tool to inspire and guide those who are ready to look critically at their lives and their choices.
The best "self-help" book out there November 19, 2008 As you can see, I call myself a self-help junkie. I have spent years looking outside myself for the answer, the solution, the quick fix. After reading The Right Questions and using the questions every day, I can see that I have all the answers I need inside of me. Debbie Ford supports the reader in developing the muscle of self-referral. She and her amazing Integrative Coaches who are trained based on this work support people to find their own answers and live a life based on their own inner compass. These questions truly are the "right" ones -- in all the little choices we make each and every day which lead us either to the life of our dreams or somewhere else. I'm so glad I found this book.
A Great Read November 18, 2008 After reading this book I felt inspired, renewed, and again ready to take on life's challenges. It's a good book for those who aren't necessarily ready to delve into the nitty gritty of all their painful experiences, but seek some personal growth and want more out of life. It makes a great gift!
